作为一款行动相机，GoPro的形状和外在尺寸并没有多大的变化，所有机型均为41x59x21/30mm(后者取决于镜头是否突出)、兼容各种配件、支持40米(132英尺)防水、并且提供了一个Skeleton Backdoor端口(方便连接以获得更好的录音效果)。Hero4 Silver还提供了一个“触控友好”的Touch Backdoor。

[b]4K录制：[/b]4K视频录制是新发布的Hero4系的最大卖点，但在帧率上，多款产品仍留有一丝差异。当然，上一代的GoPro Hero3+并不支持4K或2.7K的视频录制。

[b]高比特率视频：[/b]GoPro支持不同比特率的视频录制(H.264)，从最低的25MB/s到最高的60MB/s不等。这方面Hero4 Black依然最给力。

720p@120fps、并且关闭了Wi-Fi的情况下：Hero4 Black可坚持1小时50分钟、Hero4 Silver可坚持1小时55分钟、Hero3+ Black为1小时55分钟、Hero3+ Silver则是2小时20分钟。
